Clean-up is the least glamorous stage of a build and the one that most visibly separates a finished model from a snapped-together one. It goes faster in a specific order, and doing it out of order means repeating work.
Nubs first, while the part is still on nothing
Remove gate remnants before any assembly, while the part can be turned freely in the hand. Once two parts are joined, half the nub faces become inaccessible.
Scrape before you sand
Dragging the back of a blade along a seam removes it without the surrounding haze that sandpaper leaves. Sanding is for what scraping cannot reach, not the first resort.
Finish with the finest grade you have, then check under light
Scratches that are invisible on bare plastic appear immediately under paint. Rotating the part under a bright light before priming catches almost all of them while they are still cheap to fix.

What it costs
Across model tool kits at Redline Hobby prices currently run from $26.99 to $43.99. In model tool kits that spread is mostly build quality and pack size rather than brand name: the cheapest option on this shelf is a reasonable place to start, and the dearest earns the difference in daily use rather than on the specification sheet.
Questions we get at the counter
What does shipping cost?
US orders of $45 and over ship free. A flat $5.50 applies below that. We ship to United States addresses only.
Are these tools suitable for resin as well as plastic?
Most are. Resin is harder on cutting edges, so for 3D printed parts we would point you at the sturdier nippers rather than the finest ones.

Side by side
The table below pulls the published figures off the 6 model tool kits listings above so they can be compared without opening six tabs. A dash means the manufacturer of that model tool kit did not state the figure, not that the item lacks it, because Redline Hobby does not fill those gaps with estimates. Where a number matters to your decision and the table shows a dash, call +1 347-202-7247 and we will measure the item at the 3192 Webster Ave counter in about a minute.

How the rest of the shop is laid out
Redline Hobby keeps a deliberately narrow scale model building tools range, split into the sections below. The counts and price bands are read from the live redlinehobby.shop catalogue at the moment this page was built, so they show the actual shape of the Norwood shelf rather than a marketing summary of it. If a section looks small, that is because Redline Hobby would rather stock a few things we can answer questions about than list everything a distributor offers.
| Section | Items | Price range |
|---|---|---|
| Model Tool Kits | 11 | $9.99 – $43.99 |
| Nippers and Cutters | 5 | $6.49 – $9.99 |
| Painting Stands | 7 | $9.48 – $26.99 |
| Workbench and Materials | 3 | $22.99 – $68.99 |
Reading a product page here
Every listing on redlinehobby.shop is written from the manufacturer specification, and where the manufacturer is silent Redline Hobby leaves the field out rather than fill the gap, which is why some scale model building tools pages are shorter than others. The details block on each page carries the figures that were actually published — pack quantity, size, material and compatibility — and the paragraph underneath says which part of the Norwood shelf the item belongs to. Anything not covered there is a question for +1 347-202-7247, and Redline Hobby would rather answer it before an order than process a return afterwards. Stock counts come from the same records the counter uses, so an item showing as available is an item on the shelf at 3192 Webster Ave.
